# 3. Onboard Your Data through Portal

**Before onboarding your first audience, create a campaign. To be properly uploaded, each audience must be tied to a campaign.**

**Important:** Please do not close, refresh, or leave the page while the onboarding dialog is open. This may interrupt the process and result in a failed onboarding.

1. Upon logging on to digitalAudience Portal, you land on Dashboard. Click **Upload CRM data.**

2.Click **Browse** and seleсt the file on your computer. Alternatively, you can drag and drop the file directly.

3. Type *Audience name,* click the **Add to campaign** dropdown, and select a campaign to which this audience will be linked.

4.Check if the system has correctly mapped the columns in your file. Your column headers are shown on top of the section whereas our system columns are displayed in the dropdowns under your headers.

5.The names that appear faded in the dropdowns signify the columns that are set to be excluded throughout the mapping process.

6. In the scenario where you upload a CSV file lacking headers, our system encounters difficulty in identifying the column headers. As a result, you will notice that identical values appear faded in the dropdown menus within the system. This occurrence indicates that you are required to undertake manual column mapping.

7. Please click on the initial dropdown menu and proceed to choose the accurate column header. In the event that you are unable to locate a suitable column header within the dropdown options, this indicates that the respective column will be excluded from the mapping process. In such cases, you have two choices: you can either opt to keep the column as is or select the "Ignore" option. Regardless of your choice, the column in question will not be taken into consideration during the mapping phase.

8. For thorough column mapping, click on each individual dropdown to ensure that all your columns are accurately mapped.

**To proceed with onboarding, you need to map minimum one column.**

9.When the system or you have mapped the column headers properly, click **Next.**

10. Click **Confirm.**

11.Wait for your data to be processed.

12.Click **Done**.
